Stuart Beatch (b. 1991) is a Canadian composer of choral and chamber music currently living in London, UK. He is the composer-in-residence for The Fourth Choir (a London-based LGBT chamber choir), and recently completed postgraduate studies at King’s College London under Rob Keeley, having previously studied at the University of Alberta. In 2016, Stuart was selected to collaborate in the Theoartistry programme at the University of St Andrews, working directly with Sir James Macmillan. More recently, he was accepted into the inaugural Choral Arts programme at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, where he studied under the Latvian composer Uģis Prauliņš. With a particular focus on choral music, his works have been sung by vocal ensembles on both sides of the Atlantic, including the BBC Singers, the National Youth Choir of Canada, Pro Coro Canada, the Chronos Vocal Ensemble, the Elysian Singers, musica intima, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the Choral Arts Initiative.
