Duration: 2 minutes
Difficulty: 1/4

First performed in Edmonton, Canada by the All Saints Anglican Cathedral Choir (Jeremy Spurgeon, dir.) in November 2018.

In my time singing with the All Saints Anglican Cathedral, I had written plenty of liturgical music, but very little was quickly and easily singable by the choir itself. At the request of the choir director, Jeremy Spurgeon, I composed a short responsory which could easily be picked up by the congregation, while still maintaining my own harmonic language. In Alleluia, the unison refrain (to be sung by the congregation) alternates with short verses (to be sung a cappella by the choir).

Live recording currently unavailable. MIDI available on request.

Alleluia!

The word of the Lord is pure,
His word is true and mighty.
We believe in Him and His Son,
Jesus Christ.

The Lord is our life and light,
He rules over all creation.
Let us hear His holy word
and praise His name!
